Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Coast
An aircraft soaring over a crowded California beach suddenly commenced twirling wildly, finally losing altitude and plunging into a line of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Footage uploaded on social media show the chopper starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling near the perimeter of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on that day.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Details on their wounds were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
